EXALTED RULER'S MESSAGE

Summer comes to an end and the days begin to get shorter,
the kids are going back to school. I would like to remind everyone
to please be careful on our roads, watch out for children,
especially around school bus stops.
This July, Dotty and I were proud to represent your lodge at the
Grand Lodge Convention in Anaheim, California. I furthered my
knowledge in Elkdom, made a lot of new friends from all over this
great country of ours and it reminded me of the reason I joined
this organization of the Elks.
Our new Grand Exalted Ruler, Paul D. Helsel said
his theme for 2008- 2009 is:
“Growing Elkdom and Strengthening America”
During the months of July and August I am pleased to say that the
bartenders were not lonely and the events were well attended. To
name a few, we saw the successful return of Steak Night, and let’s
not forget Tent Week with all the great food selections to choose
from. Thanks again to all who made it such a success.
July brought us our second initiation of new members. On behalf
of the membership, I want to welcome all our new members, and I
am pleased to see that some have already jumped in to help out.
Our third Initiation will be the second meeting in September. As
our membership continues to grow it proves how much we enjoy
our Elk family and the power of Elkdom.
In closing let me remind you we have only just begun. Check your
bulletin regularly, as we have many more exciting events in store
for you. Come and join in on the fun! Let’s all remember
“Elks Care, Elks Share”
