ELK OF THE MONTH
This is only one word to describe this member, Spitfire. Going over and above her duties on the House Committee.
The beautiful plants outdoors and their daily watering and maintenance, the constant job of keeping our kitchens
refrigerators cleaned and organized, Tip of the Antlers Board, she’ll even put out leftover food for the members to munch on. She’s considered by many of us as the official money taker at almost every Friday Social, Lounge & Hall events, and all of the Elks Lodge Offi cers Breakfast.
As the Barbaric Chef, she has given me some well needed advice in the kitchen.
Please help me in giving a big hand to: Jean Schultz the September Elk of the Month
ELK & OFFICER OF THE YEAR

One of the honors afforded me, as Exalted Ruler, is choosing Elk and Officer of the year. Choosing Officer of the Year was very difficult as every officer was involved in running many of our events over the year. The success of this year has been attributed to the support of each and everyone one of them to which I am very grateful. The officer chosen not only hosted many events, but also was always throwing new ideas my ways to help bring new events to the lodge and recognition to those members who have volunteered. In addition to this, one of the biggest contributions was taking over our Lodge bulletin without any hesitation. Everything this officer has done has
been for the good of the lodge, the membership and a support to me as Exalted Ruler. Join me in congratulating the Officer of the Year - Corey Kingsland

Choosing Elk of the Year was equally as difficult, finally bringing the choice to two members. Both of these individuals spent many hard working hours at the lodge. However, there was one who due to experience as a past officer and house committee member was able to contribute in many different aspect of the lodge. The Elk of the Year chosen not only worked many events in and outside of the lodge, but also filled in when officers were absent, help coached the officers for ritual initiations and competition, has on several occasions dropped what he was doing at home to correct some crisis at the lodge, as well as being there for me, as a PER and a friend, over my last seven years as an officer. He was the organizer of 5 major events our lodge held during this year….Family Picnic, Member Outing, Taste of Wallingford, Turkey Shoot, and the Christmas Buffet. Join me in congratulating the Elk of the Year - Gene Clodfelter.

As I previously stated there were two people being considered for the Elk of the Year. I would be remiss if I did not recognize the other member who spent many hours volunteering. This member will also be recognized and honored at the Elk & Officer of the Year event with the Grand Exalted Ruler Special Commendation Award.

This member has kept the kitchens in order by organizing and reorganizing after our many events, spent hours cleaning our hall ovens, single handedly prepared the inventory of all lodge assets as requested by the District Deputy; has prepped, cooked, served and cleaned, collected tickets, sold raffle tickets, monitored the guest book for many, many Friday Socials and lodge events, has cared for our summer and Christmas flowers, is a member of the house Committee and the list goes on. Join me in congratulating Jean Schultz for her dedication and hard work.
