In between all their playing, they've also been busy with their own BLOG! Send them an email.

This page is dedicated to health facts for cats. After the deadly care of the poison cat food distributed by Menu Foods we want to help as many people as possible to make the right choices about what to feed your pet.

One of the most informative websites we've found is www.catnutrition.org/. It gives you the real deal on why dry food is not the best thing to feed your cats. Even from a purely common sense point of view it makes sense.

Two of my previous male cats ate a mix of wet cat food and dry food and both ended up with FUS which is a disease of the lower urinary tract that includes the bladder and urethra. They both ended up having the perineal urethrostomy surgery.  It involves castration and permanently opening the urethra past the constricted area.  I didn't want to risk that happening again with Beau Beau so I did extensive research to find out what to feed him.

I remember what my cats veternarian said when treating my previous cat, Butchie, regarding Feline Urinary Tract Syndrome. He said that years ago when he was first in his vetinary practice and before the big manufacturers started making pet food, vets didn't see the problems, especially the urinary track problems they see now. Makes sense to me. When cats lived mostly outside they ate what is natural to them, mice, bugs, birds, in essence, protein -- MEAT! They didn't go out and eat rice, and wheat, and leftover corn from the corn fields.

What do you think would happen to your body if you at refined corn all day long? You'd feel lethargic and lazy. So why would you want to feed your cat nothing but dry food all day long? They're carnivores! Their bodies don't have the enzymes to digest vegetable matter.

Therefore, in trying to find the best information about food for cats I'll be listing links here to sites that I think make some good points about what to feed your cat along with some legitimate research to back it up. Cat Nutrition.or is actually the best site I've found so far and explains it better than I ever could. Please listen to them and start to get your furry friend back on the right track to health so they won't be spending their last years being treated for diabetes and getting insulin injections or worse.
